Billy Frontier
Game: Billy Frontier (Classic Mac OS, 2003)
Billy Frontier, the “cowboys in space” game Pangea Software released in 2003 for PowerPC Macs, updated for macOS, Windows, and Linux by Iliyas Jorio with Pangea’s permission. It’s an arcade-style action game with duels, shootouts, and stampedes. In shootouts you turn by slamming the cursor to the screen edges, with the mouse wheel, with horizontal trackpad scrolling, or with the keys. The latest version, 1.1.1 (September 6, 2023), smoothed that turning, added settings for wheel speed and direction, fixed graphical artifacts in smoke and flames, fixed right-edge turning on Retina Macs, and updated SDL to 2.28.3; there are downloads for Linux x86-64 and ARM64, macOS, and Windows. The downloads include the whole game, which the author publishes under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license with permission from Pangea Software.
You needNo copy needed: the game is published in full with permission from Pangea Software, and each download already includes its data. Plus Windows, macOS, or Linux (x86-64; ARM64 too on Linux).
