Dust: A Tale of the Wired West

Game: Dust: A Tale of the Wired West (Windows, 1995)

A native Windows x64 reconstruction, in C++20, of Dust: A Tale of the Wired West that reads the original game’s data files. It comes with a launcher offering windowed and borderless modes, 4K fit-to-height or integer scaling, audio preferences, captions, and optional character restoration. The README calls it a preview release: the campaign reaches its ending in scripted verification, with additional native-window checks, and some optional story paths, presentation details, and hardware configurations still need verification. Saves use the project’s own .dustsave files and are not compatible with the original game’s. The only release is preview 0.1.0 (October 25). The engine source is GPL-3.0, and the README states that it is a reconstruction, not a claim of clean-room independence.

You needYour own installed copy of Dust: A Tale of the Wired West: in the launcher you pick the folder containing DATA and MOVIES. 64-bit Windows.
