Mighty Mike
Game: Mighty Mike (Classic Mac OS, 2001)
Mighty Mike, Pangea Software’s top-down action game set in a toy store, updated for Windows, macOS, and Linux by Iliyas Jorio. It came out for the Mac in 1995 as Power Pete and was re-released as Mighty Mike in 2000. It aims to stay as faithful as possible to the original in gameplay and graphics, with a few enhancements: a widescreen mode, an uncapped frame rate with movement interpolation, and twin-stick controller support. Version 3.0.0 (April 12, 2021) made it work on modern systems; 3.0.1 added an option that remaps colors from the Apple RGB profile the game was made for to sRGB, and a maximum windowed zoom setting; and 3.0.2 (January 28, 2023) added its own OpenGL-based renderer and builds for ARM64 Linux and for Mac OS X Tiger on PowerPC, with a Windows-only hotfix on February 5. Since then the code has moved to SDL 3, not yet in a release, and the next version will require macOS 10.13. The downloads, free or pay-what-you-want on itch.io, include the whole game, which the author publishes under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license with permission from Pangea Software.
You needNo copy needed: the game is published in full with permission from Pangea Software, and each download already includes its data. Plus 64-bit Windows, macOS, or Linux (x86-64 or ARM64).
