Azure Dreams

Game: Azure Dreams (PS1, 1997)

An unofficial native port of Azure Dreams for Windows, made by statically recompiling the game’s code to C with psxrecomp and the recomp-ui launcher; it is not an emulator. It works with the US release (SLUS-00614). It offers 16:9 widescreen (the interface panel and the dungeon minimap move to the edges; movies and menus stay 4:3), HD rendering up to 4x, PGXP, fast loading (about 2 to 3 seconds instead of 17 to 22), a bicubic filter for movies, and borderless fullscreen, all toggled from the launcher. It plays with a keyboard or SDL gamepads, in the original digital-pad mode. The repository distributes no game, no BIOS, and no recompiled code. Version 0.9.1 (October 19), a public beta, is the latest release. 32 of its 33 commits list Claude as a co-author, and the README says the port was made with its help.

You needYour own copy of Azure Dreams (USA, SLUS-00614) as a .cue/.bin image (the SHA-1s are listed in game.toml, under [prepare_disc]). Windows; the README tested it on Windows 10 and, to build from the repository, asks for Git and Python 3 (psxrecomp downloads the rest of the toolchain).
