Dynasty Warriors 5: Xtreme Legends
Games: Dynasty Warriors 5: Xtreme Legends (PS2, 2005) · Dynasty Warriors 5 (PS2, 2005)
A native Windows and Linux port of the PS2 version, made with PS2Recomp: the game’s code is translated into C++ and runs natively, with graphics on Vulkan through paraLLEl-GS. The release (190 to 270 MB) ships the project’s program, its source code, a compiler, and the tools, and builds the game on your PC from your disc without downloading anything; the repository and downloads contain no disc images, game executables, IRX modules, assets, or translated code. According to the README it is in beta and all modes work: boot, menus, Legend, Musou, and Free modes, movies, music, voices, effects, saving and loading, and “Load Original” to unlock the original game’s modes with its disc. Its authors are still testing for bugs and performance: in busy battles the frame rate on Windows is lower than on Linux. Version 0.1.0-beta.7 is from October 31. 74 of its last 100 commits list Claude as a co-author.
