Earthworm Jim 2

Game: Earthworm Jim 2 (PS1, 1996)

A native Windows version of the PlayStation release of Earthworm Jim 2, produced by static recompilation with psxrecomp: the game’s MIPS code is translated to C and compiled into a normal Windows executable. It is not an emulator and does not include the game: you build it on your PC from your disc. The boot loader and all 19 game executables (main menu, the 17 levels, and the ending) are recompiled ahead of time, and every level was checked against the DuckStation emulator during development. The first build downloads a portable toolchain and the framework sources at pinned commits and takes roughly 30 to 60 minutes. It includes a partial 16:9 widescreen patch, on by default: Puppy Love 1-3, Flyin’ King, and Lorenzo’s Soil still play in 4:3, as do menus, transitions, videos, and the ending. Version 0.2 (October 3) is the latest release.

You needYour own dump of the European release (SLES-00343): the Redump set with one .cue and 15 .bin tracks (track 1 SHA-256: D251CF65BB60EE375778F4369CF74FB88371E07EAB51EC337C0AD34F8DEF932B). Plus 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, about 6 GB free (16 GB of RAM recommended for the build), and an internet connection for the first build.
