Far Cry Instincts
Game: Far Cry Instincts (Xbox, 2005)
A native Windows port of the Xbox version by static recompilation with a version of XboxXBE-Recomp adapted to this game. The downloads don’t include the game: a script takes your disc image, downloads whatever is missing (Python and the SDK), and builds the game on your machine in 15 to 25 minutes. In 0.1.2 the story mode works, with its saves, and so does the optional map editor, with custom maps that save and load. It adds anisotropic filtering, anti-aliasing, ambient occlusion, render scaling, soft and higher-resolution shadows, longer draw distances, 16:9 widescreen, and keyboard and mouse, all set in fci.ini. For now it’s locked to 30 fps, Xbox Live and system link don’t work, and the campaign hasn’t been tested end to end. Its author states it was made with extensive AI assistance, with the code reviewed by them.
You needA dump of your own Far Cry Instincts Xbox disc (title ID 55530008, version 1), as an ISO or extracted. Plus 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, a Direct3D 12 graphics card, about 10 GB of free space, and an internet connection for the first build.
