Gran Turismo 4
Game: Gran Turismo 4 (PS2, 2004)
A static recompilation of Gran Turismo 4 (NTSC-U) for Windows x86-64: the game’s code is translated ahead of time into C++ and compiled to native code, including every VU1 and VU0 microprogram, and the PS2 hardware is reproduced in software. It is what the README calls a hybrid recompilation: the image goes out through Vulkan with PCSX2’s GSdx renderer in a separate process, which the launcher downloads, while an in-house one (CoreGS 2.0) is in development. It advertises a locked 60 FPS at 100% game speed in the scenes it tests, 1080p by default and up to 8K, widescreen and ultrawide, custom texture packs, a crash-safe memory card, and gamepads through SDL3. It ships an installer and a launcher that set the game up from your disc. Version 1.3.0-rc6 (October 26) is a test build; 1.2.5 is from the same day. 51 of its last 100 commits list Claude as a co-author.
You needYour own .iso image of Gran Turismo 4 USA v2.00 (SCUS-97328). 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, a processor with SSE4.1, a graphics card with Vulkan 1.2, and about 6 GB free (the launcher keeps a 5.3 GB copy of your image).
