Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber

Game: Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber (N64, 1999)

A static recompilation of the US Rev A release, built with N64Recomp on N64ModernRuntime with RT64 as its renderer; it isn’t a decompilation. According to its plan, the game runs end to end: menus, map, missions, battles, shop, Organize screen, credits, and ending. An options panel, which Esc also opens during play, has tabs for mods, controls, and settings. It adds 16:9 widescreen on the mission field, with the 2D screens kept at 4:3, a 1x, 2x, 4x, or 8x game speed (with “-” and “=” or R3 on a controller), mouse control on the world map and in missions (experimental and off by default), volume control, and controller as well as keyboard support. It ships three example mods: one that skips the boot logos, one that keeps leftover experience on level-up, and an experimental item randomizer. There are builds for Windows, Linux, and Apple silicon macOS; the latest, 0.8.3, came out on October 14 and added the 8x speed. Its author describes it as an experiment to see how far DeepSeek can go.

You needYour own US Rev A Ogre Battle 64 ROM (40 MB, as .z64, .n64, or .v64), which is checked by its hash. Plus 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, macOS 11 or later on Apple silicon, or a glibc-based Linux; a graphics card with Direct3D 12.0 (Shader Model 6.0) or Vulkan 1.2 on Windows, Vulkan 1.2 on Linux, or Metal on macOS (at least a GeForce GT 630, Radeon HD 7750, or Intel HD 510), an x86-64 CPU with SSE4.1, and 2 GB of RAM.
