The Lost World: Jurassic Park
Game: The Lost World: Jurassic Park (Arcade, 1997)
A native PC port of Sega’s 1997 arcade light-gun game, for the Sega Model 3 board. The README says it is not an emulator: the original code, PowerPC recompiled to C++, with a modern Vulkan renderer. It offers true widescreen (16:9 or 21:9), ray-traced sun shadows, ambient occlusion, distance haze, bloom, new rain and lightning, a flashlight in the night stages, MSAA or NVIDIA DLAA, HD textures, smooth motion at 120 or 144 Hz, mouse, gamepad (with gyro), or two mice for two players, and new modes (Random Spawns, Boss Fight, Survival) with achievements and stats. The repository publishes no releases: it is built with Python and the Visual Studio 2022 Build Tools. The code is under the MIT license. 62 of its 91 commits list Claude as a co-author.
You needYour own copy of the arcade ROM lostwsga.zip, the Japan Rev. A set (Sega Model 3 Step 1.5), with files such as epr-19936.20 and mpr-19918.1; other versions will not work. Plus 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, a Vulkan graphics card, Python 3, and the Visual Studio 2022 Build Tools with the C++ workload.
