Wipeout Pure
Game: Wipeout Pure (PSP, 2005)
A native port for Apple Silicon Macs and Windows, made by static recompilation: the game’s code is translated ahead of time into a program that runs directly on your machine, with graphics drawn by Metal on macOS and Vulkan on Windows; it is not an emulator. According to the README it includes the complete single-player game, with every mode, class, league, and circuit, plus the movies, music, and sound. Saves use the PSP’s format and the menu imports them from a memory stick or from PPSSPP. It offers optional enhancements: your display’s resolution, ultrawide, 60 frames per second in Time Trial, Free Play, and Zone (and your display’s refresh rate in races), and an HD texture pack. Version 0.2.0 (October 20) is the latest release. 100 of its last 100 commits list Claude as a co-author.
You needYour own disc image of Wipeout Pure, US Greatest Hits edition (UCUS-98612, version 2.00); the program checks it and refuses other editions and regions. Plus 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 with a graphics card with a Vulkan driver, or an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or newer) with macOS 13 or later, and about 300 MB of disk.
