Zero Racers
Game: Zero Racers (Virtual Boy, 2026)
A recompilation of the Virtual Boy Zero Racers for Windows with vbrecomp and the recomp-ui launcher, both by the same author: the V810 code is translated to C and compiled to native code, with an interpreter for uncovered code. The game was finished in 1996 but canceled after the console’s failure, and first came out on August 4, 2026, on Nintendo Classics for Switch; the recomp is based on that release. You play with keyboard or controller, with rebindable controls and saves and settings that persist, and there’s an optional color mod, off by default, with silver tunnels, distinctly colored machines, colored menus and HUDs, and yellow repair areas, keeping the original wireframes. Version 0.0.4 (October 19) enters, with assistance, all 15 courses, A1 to C5, and Time Trial without touching the interpreter; it doesn’t claim complete cups or endings.
You needYour own Zero Racers ROM, the (Japan, USA) (En) (Switch Online) revision, uncompressed (1,048,576 bytes, CRC32 71553796, SHA-256 47421cd82dfd414d042d2f7f9db51e657d414d4ddfa46887efb544029fa11ce7). Plus 64-bit Windows 10 or 11.
