Mario Party 4 (marioparty4)

mariopartyrd/marioparty4

Work-in-progress decompilation in which both US versions already build fully identical to the original, though almost everything outside the game engine remains undocumented. The European and Japanese versions are deliberately on hold: they involve a lot of repetitive work that will be far easier once there is tooling to carry splits and symbols between versions.

Mario Party 4 (Party Board, zeranemesis)

zeranemesis/Marioparty4

Party Board: a native port of Mario Party 4 (GameCube) built on the game’s decompilation; it isn’t an emulator. It runs on Windows (through the CubeShelf manager or from a zip), Linux (AppImage), macOS (Apple silicon and Intel), Android phones, and Meta Quest, in stereo 3D and mixed reality; the Switch homebrew version builds but hasn’t been run on a console yet. The game starts from a disc image (ISO, RVZ, WIA, or GCZ) that is checked by hash. It supports 60 to 240 fps without speeding the game up, an adaptive widescreen HUD or a locked 4:3, adjustable internal and shadow resolution, several graphics backends (Direct3D 12 and 11, Vulkan, Metal, OpenGL…), gamepad, keyboard, and mouse, an on-screen touch controller, a turbo key, a speedrun mode, unlocking minigames without touching your save, RetroAchievements, and mods applied on top of the image without rewriting it (through CubeShelf). It has online play for two to four players from Windows and Android, on a local network or in private and public rooms, with a lockstep simulation and a state comparison every tick, and a relay for anyone who can’t open ports. Version 0.20.0 (October 16) is the latest, marked as a pre-release. The README thanks the GameCube and Wii decompilation community, the Aurora and Dusk developers, and the contributors to mariopartyrd/partyboard, another Party Board repository. The dist/ folder holds a 30.7 MB ZIP with a backup of a Windows build (the executable and DLLs of the game code and the interface, with no game data). 83 of its last 100 commits list Claude as a co-author.

You needYour own copy of Mario Party 4 for GameCube as a disc image (ISO, RVZ, WIA, or GCZ): the US GMPE01 (revision 0 or 1) or the European GMPP01; the Japanese GMPJ01 is recognized but not supported yet. To play online, all players need the same disc (US revision 1 or the European one). Plus Windows, Linux, macOS, Android, or Meta Quest.

Party Board: a work-in-progress port of Mario Party 4 for Windows, Linux, macOS, Android, and iOS, made with Aurora, whose authors thank the GameCube and Wii decompilation community. The repository contains no game assets or assembly: a copy of the game is required. The versions it lists as completed are revision 0 and revision 1 of the US release (GMPE01). It builds with CMake and has instructions for Windows, macOS, and Linux. The only published release is the alpha 0.2.0 from May 8, with packages for Windows (x64 and x86) and Android; the repository is still being updated (the latest change was on October 28). Another Party Board repository exists, zeranemesis’s, which is already in the catalog.
