Tekken 3 Recompiled: a hybrid recompilation of the US release (SLUS-00402), built with a modified psxrecomp: the translated code runs alongside a model of the PS1 hardware and an interpreter for the dynamic code it doesn’t cover. Its headline addition is Jun Kazama as a playable fighter, with her three Tekken Tag Tournament outfits and a stage of her own modeled on Tekken Tag Tournament 2’s Heavenly Garden: the installer imports her on your machine from the Tekken Tag Tournament and Tekken 3 arcade ROMs you provide, using a copy of MAME 0.289 it downloads itself. It also has 16:9 widescreen on by default, which shows more of the stage and adapts the main menu, character select, and loading screens; an outfit selector with seven new designs; HD textures for Yoshimitsu’s forest stage; separate music and effects volume; and Tekken Ball and Theater modes unlocked. The launcher handles mods, per-player controls, a disc library, and updates, and the easy setup downloads the tools and builds the game on your machine. The repository also holds the start of a separate native port, which for now uses placeholder fighters and stage, and tools to extract and modify the disc’s textures, sounds, and videos. It’s a Windows x64 preview; the latest, 0.1.4, came out on September 23. The new outfit textures and Jun’s stage were made with AI image generation, according to its documentation.
You needYour own disc image of the US release of Tekken 3 for PS1 (SLUS-00402), as a .cue with its .bin. Jun also needs the non-merged Tekken Tag Tournament and Tekken 3 arcade ROM sets (tektagt.zip and tekken3.zip). Plus 64-bit Windows, an internet connection for the first setup, and at least 4 GB of free space.

OpenKumite is a fighting game engine in Rust that plays a game’s converted data 1:1, as the original does. Its repository holds no game data: it is produced once by kumite_converter, a separate project that, according to its own README, converts the US PlayStation Tekken 3 (SLUS-00402) into standard formats (glTF 2.0, PNG, JSON, WAV/FLAC, and AVI). It runs natively (wgpu and winit) and in the browser (WebAssembly), with local two-player matches and online rollback play. The modes are Arcade, VS, Team Battle, Time Attack, Survival, Force, Practice, and Watch CPU, plus OpenKumite’s own Tag Brawl and Online, and every match is saved as a replay. There are builds for Windows (x86-64 and ARM64), Linux, macOS, and Android, with packages for several distributions; version 0.1.2 (October 27) is the latest.
You needYour own copy of the US PlayStation Tekken 3 (SLUS-00402) as the track 1 .bin (a 2048-byte-per-sector .iso won’t work), converted with kumite_converter; on Android the conversion is copied into the app’s storage and takes about 3 GB. Optionally, your Tekken 2 (USA v1.1) and your Counter-Strike to add their fighters and levels. Windows, Linux, macOS, or Android, with a wgpu-compatible graphics card.

Adds to Tekken 3 the 18 characters Tekken Tag Tournament added to the roster, playable in every mode and fought by the CPU, on top of Tekken3Recompiled, FishB0nes98’s recompilation. The select screen has a “Tag” page (L2 / R2), each fighter can use their Tekken 3 or Tag Tournament moveset, there are 88 practice combos, Tekken Force bosses of their own for every guest, Devil, Angel, and Unknown as hidden sub-bosses, and Tag Tournament’s Embu; with your arcade ROMs the stages and music of both games are imported as well. Everything is unlocked from the start. There is a native build for Windows, macOS, and Linux (experimental) and an Android APK built on your computer. Version 1.4.1 (October 29) is the latest. According to its README it includes no game files: the setup builds everything from yours.
You needYour own Tekken 3 PlayStation disc image (track 1 .bin of 632,532,768 bytes, SHA-1 68f32a8657376cb4d4504c160fd5e8ae4a4f18d6) and the Tekken Tag Tournament arcade ROM tektagt.zip (a non-merged MAME set; the World, US, and Japan versions listed in the README work). Optional: the arcade tekken3.zip (TET2 VER.E1) and the Tekken Tag Tournament PS2 disc (USA).
