Built on the decompilation: Animal Crossing (ac-decomp)
Animal Crossing (BellPad)
Game: Animal Crossing → (GameCube, 2002)
BellPad: an experimental native port of the US release of the GameCube Animal Crossing for Apple silicon macOS, iPhone, and iPad. It is not a GameCube emulator or a browser port: it builds a 64-bit game core from the reverse engineering and draws with Metal through Aurora, SDL3, and Dawn. Its foundation is birabittoh’s ACGC-PC-Port, which comes from FlyingMeta’s PC port and the ac-decomp decompilation; BellPad contributes the Apple integration, game-data import from Files, touch controls, Dolphin-compatible save handling, and fixes. The published releases contain no app: you build it with PadMint, a separate tool, on an Apple silicon Mac with Xcode, from your own game file. 0.2.2 (October 19) added building for the Mac itself, besides iPhone and iPad. The project’s README declares substantial AI assistance for code, tests, documentation, debugging, and maintenance, and notes that some support replies are automated.
You needYour own Animal Crossing for GameCube file, US release. Plus an Apple silicon Mac with Xcode and the build dependencies (cmake, ninja, ripgrep, and sdl2 from Homebrew) to generate the app with PadMint.
