Big Red Racing (Big Red Report)

Game: Big Red Racing → (DOS, 1995)

A fan-made port of Big Red Racing that reimplements the game in JavaScript and WebGL2, with no dependencies, and reads the files of your original copy (the BIGRED folder; with the CD image the game’s music can also play). It is played in the browser (Chrome or Edge) or with Windows, Linux, Steam Deck, and Android apps that wrap the same web page; the repository includes no game data. It adds modern graphics with sunlight and shadows or the 1995 look, ultrawide support, controllers, split-screen for up to 8 players, online play for up to 12 with voice chat, the original recorded rivals or a new AI, replays, photo mode, time trials, a drift mode, a track editor, and mods that replace game files. The repository carries its own circuits, horns, logos, and two royalty-free music tracks for the Grand Prix and drift modes. Version 0.112.0 (October 31) is the latest of 69 releases; the desktop packages weigh 118 to 130 MB and the browser zip about 11 MB. 70 of its last 100 commits list Claude as a co-author.

You needYour own original copy of Big Red Racing: the BIGRED folder and, if you want the CD music, its image (IMAGE.img/IMAGE.cue). You choose it after pressing PRESS START. Plus Chrome or Edge, or the Windows, Linux, or Android app; on Android you provide a .zip with the BIGRED folder.
