Jade Cocoon: Story of the Tamamayu
Game: Jade Cocoon: Story of the Tamamayu (PS1, 1998)
An engine reimplementation of Jade Cocoon: Story of the Tamamayu (PlayStation, European release SLES-02201), written in Rust on Bevy. It does not execute the original’s native PlayStation code: it reads data tables from the executable and the image of your disc and interprets the scene scripts. According to the README, the story plays through to its ending, with battles, creature capture and merging, menus, movies, music, voices, and local saving, and the optional second-round corridor is also implemented; it warns that this is a fan implementation with known differences and bugs. There is a 64-bit Windows build and, since 1.1.1, an Android one. Version 1.1.2 is from October 18 and fixes the purification screen not returning the empty cocoons. It includes no game files and no links to obtain them. 2 of its 4 commits list Claude as a co-author.
You needYour own European Jade Cocoon disc image (SLES-02201), as a raw MODE2/2352 .bin; the path is stored in jc.local.toml. 64-bit Windows (no Rust install needed) or Android (arm64). To build from source, stable Rust for x86_64-pc-windows-msvc and Visual Studio with C++.
