Metal Gear Solid: Integral (RE:INTEGRAL)
Game: Metal Gear Solid (PS1, 1998)
RE:INTEGRAL: an unofficial Windows source port of the PlayStation Metal Gear Solid Integral, built from the C code recovered by FoxdieTeam (their decompilation of the game) and the PsyZ platform library. Godot handles presentation and visual modding, and the native runtime handles gameplay, collision, animation state, audio, saves, and timing. 0.3.0 (October 15) brings the Godot renderer and a modding SDK together with the launcher and the preserved “Legacy 0.2” renderer. A preparation step, Prepare.cmd, extracts the data from your two campaign discs using the BIN/CUE images. Mods install as portable zips and there is a guide to making them. The project itself warns that campaign-wide acceptance of appearance, playability, and performance is still in progress. Windows is the only target; Linux is planned. The repository includes the project’s code and patches, and the releases also publish native debug symbols.
You needYour own Japanese campaign discs of Metal Gear Solid Integral: disc 1 (SLPM-86247) and disc 2 (SLPM-86248), as single-track MODE2/2352 BIN/CUE images; other regions and plain ISO files are not substitutes. Plus 64-bit Windows 10 22H2 or Windows 11 and .NET Framework 4.8 for the launcher, and a graphics card with Vulkan (Godot) or Direct3D 12 (Legacy renderer).
