Built on the decompilation: Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
Game: Metroid Prime 2: Echoes → (GameCube, 2004)
Echoes Unbound is an unofficial native port of Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, built from PrimeDecomp’s decompilation, with the Aurora platform layer (SDL3 and WebGPU) and the MusyX audio engine; there is no emulator. It runs on Linux, Windows, macOS, and Android, and experimentally on iOS, with the US and PAL GameCube discs and the Metroid Prime Trilogy discs (US and PAL). It adds widescreen with an adapted HUD, render scale, vsync, high frame rates with interpolation, mouse, twin-stick, and gyro aiming, cutscene skipping, optional tweaks such as a fast Morph Ball, save states, suit colors, drop-in mod folders with an HD texture pack, a photo mode, an F1 menu with every setting, and an item randomizer. Version 0.6.6, from October 30, is the latest; the author himself calls it a pre-release. It states that parts of the port were written with AI coding assistants.
