Nanosaur

Game: Nanosaur (Classic Mac OS, 1998)

A port of the Nanosaur source code that Pangea Software released in 1999, updated for macOS, Windows, and Linux with Pangea’s permission. To carry it over, the author wrote Pomme, a partial reimplementation of the Macintosh Toolbox API; the first release rendered with a fork of Quesa (an implementation of QuickDraw 3D) and since 1.4.2 it has its own renderer. It adds arbitrary resolutions and fixes gameplay bugs without changing the game’s design. Unlike almost every project in the catalog, the repository includes the Data folder with the game’s audio, models, images, and movies, released by its owner. The code is licensed CC NC-BY-SA 4.0. The latest version is 1.4.4 (February 5, 2023), with packages for macOS, Windows, and Linux (x86-64 and ARM64 AppImages).

You needNo copy of the game is needed: the data comes with the port, released by Pangea Software. Just macOS, Windows, or Linux.
