OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast
Game: OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast → (Windows, 2006)
A native port of the PC version of OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast (Sumo Digital / Sega, 2006) built from a decompilation, which the project describes as made with AI. The game code is a C++ reconstruction of the PC executable, partly still translated from x86 by a tool of its own (tools/x86tr) and the rest written by hand, on top of a native platform layer for each system: Nintendo Switch, macOS (Apple silicon), PS5 (homebrew), and Xbox One and Series (Developer Mode). The macOS one is what counts here. The README warns it isn’t finished: some menus are incorrect, and some visual effects, performance, and behaviors aren’t final. It already adds several anti-aliasing methods, resolution options, widescreen, and 120 fps, and promises to bring in features from OutRun2006Tweaks later. The test-1 prerelease (October 7) ships all four builds, with the Xbox one untested. On first launch it reads code tables and constants from OR2006C2C.EXE, checks them against SHA-256 hashes, and keeps a prepared image, OR2006C2C.cache, in the game folder. The repository holds code only.
You needYour own copy of OutRun 2006: Coast 2 Coast for PC (the Steam one): the installation folder, with its OR2006C2C.EXE. The published build for this kind of machine is the macOS one for Apple silicon.
