Tony Hawk's Pro Skater

Game: Tony Hawk's Pro Skater → (PS1, 1999)

A native Windows and Linux port of the US PlayStation version (SLUS_008.60), built from a matching decompilation of the game’s code, forked from LANCommander/THPS. It runs as a 32-bit program with an OpenGL 3.3 renderer, keyboard and gamepad controls, widescreen, high resolutions, and saves as plain files. The career mode with all nine levels can be played through; the only gap it names is the PS1’s reverb, which the port approximates with its own. Since 1.3.0 the graphics options switch between PS1 and Dreamcast assets. On first start it copies about 630 MB from the disc into a Data folder and the image isn’t needed afterwards. What the build takes from the retail executable is addresses, which are committed in the repository. Version 1.4.0 (October 24) added bilinear filtering and 1.3.0 (October 22) added VSync and keyboard text entry. 23 of its last 100 commits list Claude as a co-author.

You needYour own raw disc image (MODE2/2352 .bin) of the PlayStation Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater (USA), or the Dreamcast disc (.gdi and its tracks). Plus 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, or x86 Linux with the 32-bit SDL 2 and OpenGL libraries, and a graphics card with OpenGL 3.3.
