40 Winks (DreaXer)
Game: 40 Winks → (N64, 1999)
A native PC port, called 40 Winks : Dreamcompiled, made by statically recompiling the game’s code with N64: Recompiled, which uses RT64 for rendering and adds enhancements such as high framerates and widescreen. It is an early release: worlds 1 and 2, with its boss, have been played from start to finish without bugs, and the rest hasn’t been tested, so its author warns of problems and recommends backing up saves. It supports only the final Piko Interactive (Europe) release; the earlier prototype isn’t supported. For now there is only a Windows build. Neither the repository nor the releases contain game assets. Version 0.3.0 is from October 30.
You needYour own 40 Winks ROM, the final Piko Interactive (Europe) release, header code N4WZ, SHA-1 282b97c6a6eb79535e618fc2651b6156fff65ea4. 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, a GPU supporting Direct3D 12.0 (Shader Model 6) or Vulkan 1.2, and a CPU with AVX.
