Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Game: Animal Crossing: New Horizons (Switch, 2020)
ACNHRecomp turns the AArch64 code of Animal Crossing: New Horizons into C++ ahead of time and compiles it for your computer; it is not an emulator. The system services the game calls are reimplemented natively and its NVN graphics calls are translated to Vulkan. It is built on the SuperMarioWonderRecomp framework. According to the README, boot, character creation, the opening movie, and free roaming on the island work at 30 frames per second; the first save hasn’t been verified in a full playthrough, native 60 fps isn’t done, and online features are unavailable. Builds exist for Windows, Linux, macOS (Apple Silicon), and Android. The latest, 0.6.0 (October 29), is presented as ready to play with ACNHRecomp-Importer. The README states that nearly all the new code was written by Claude, directed and tested by a person. 81 of its last 100 commits list Claude as a co-author.
