Call of Duty: Finest Hour
Game: Call of Duty: Finest Hour (Xbox, 2004)
Finest Hour Remastered: a native Windows port of Call of Duty: Finest Hour for the original Xbox, with a new renderer. The game’s x86 code is statically recompiled to C++, and Direct3D 8, DirectSound, and the Xbox kernel are replaced by Direct3D 12 (or Vulkan), XAudio2, and Win32. The renderer adds per-pixel lighting, dynamic shadows and lights, physically based materials, reflections, and volumetric fog without changing the art direction, and models can be set to the original, smoothed, or remastered ones. It supports the game’s four languages and adds Portuguese text. On Linux and Steam Deck it runs through Proton. Version 1.0 came out on October 17 and an update followed on the 24th. The downloads, about 5 GB, also include the AI-remastered textures and the models remade from the game’s own.
