Donkey Kong 64

Game: Donkey Kong 64 (N64, 1999)

DK64 Rekongpiled: a static recompilation of the US release, built with N64Recomp and with RT64 as its renderer. It isn’t based on the decompilation, though it uses its headers and some functions for its patches. It runs at any frame rate (your monitor’s by default) without changing game speed, and at any aspect ratio, ultrawide included, with an option to keep the HUD at 16:9. It adds in-game settings menus you can use with mouse, controller, or keyboard, longer draw distance, mouse and gyro aiming, adjustable deadzone and axis inversion, near-instant loading, and low input lag. It supports mods and texture packs, with an in-game page to discover mods. It fixes the bug that kept Hideout Helm medals from being collected if you left without picking them up, and since modern performance changed some timings, it slows down the second Fungi Forest rabbit race and the harder Krazy Kong Klamour so they stay fair. There are builds for Windows, Linux (also as a Flatpak and for ARM64), and Apple silicon macOS. 1.0.0 came out on August 29 and the latest, 1.0.3, on September 30.

You needYour own US 1.0 Donkey Kong 64 ROM for N64; if it isn’t a .z64 it’s converted automatically, and no other ROM is accepted. Plus a graphics card with Direct3D 12.0 (Shader Model 6) or Vulkan 1.2 (at least a GeForce GT 630, Radeon HD 7750, or Intel HD 510) and a CPU with AVX.
