F.E.A.R.
Game: F.E.A.R. (Xbox 360, 2006)
F.E.A.R. for Xbox 360 recompiled to run natively on Linux and the Steam Deck, without Proton; the Windows build and F.E.A.R. Files (Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate) come in later releases. The game’s PowerPC code in default.xex is translated ahead of time to C++ with ReXGlue, and a game-specific runtime stands in for the Xbox; it is neither an emulator nor a decompilation. It uses a native renderer that draws the game’s Direct3D calls through Vulkan, display-locked frame pacing up to 120 fps, MSAA, anisotropic filtering, and fixes for the console code’s bugs at high frame rates. According to the README the menus, videos, campaign, and Instant Action work, and a full play-through is the pending 1.0 test; 4K isn’t in yet (it draws at 720p and scales) and is listed as the next step. The latest version is 1.0.2 (October 31), which publishes source only; it adds the extra Holiday level to the main menu. 78 of its last 100 commits list Claude as a co-author.
You needYour own disc copy of F.E.A.R. for Xbox 360. Plus 64-bit Linux or a Steam Deck with Vulkan support; since the published release is source only, you build it yourself.
