VCSNative: a native Windows and Apple silicon macOS port of the US PSP release (ULUS-10160), made by static recompilation with PSPRecomp: the game’s MIPS program is translated to C++ ahead of time and runs on a reimplementation of the PSP’s Allegrex CPU and Graphics Engine, with no interpreter or JIT. The recompiler and the game profile are the work of Jessica Natalia, PSPRecomp’s author; this project adds keyboard and mouse with raw mouse look (the game’s prompts show your keys, or Xbox buttons with a controller), any aspect ratio from 4:3 to 32:9 with a correctly placed HUD, evenly paced 60 fps, a Vulkan graphics stack with SMAA or FXAA, color grading, a sky palette remap, sharpening, CloudWorks volumetric clouds, and Project2DFX distant lights, draw distance settings, a fix for the ATRAC3+ audio that silenced the second half of cutscenes, and a settings launcher. It also publishes an optional pack of more than 7,000 upscaled game and HUD textures, installed from the launcher. Missions and saves have had less testing than the opening areas, and it has only been tested on NVIDIA cards. Version 1.0.0 came out on October 5. The repository includes the C++ code generated from the game’s executable.

Plus 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 with a Vulkan 1.1 driver and a CPU with AVX2, FMA, BMI1/BMI2, LZCNT, F16C, MOVBE, and POPCNT, or macOS 13 or later on an Apple silicon Mac.
