The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D
Game: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D (3DS, 2015)
An unofficial native port of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D for Windows and Linux, built on TriAevum, the recompilation runtime and Vulkan renderer made for Ocarina of Time 3D. The game’s ARM code is translated to native code on your computer from your own ROM, and the 3DS GPU commands are drawn with Vulkan; the repository states that it contains no Nintendo code or assets. It adds higher resolutions, widescreen, frame interpolation above 30 fps, a single-screen layout that doesn’t need the touch screen, controller, keyboard and mouse support, English, French, or Spanish text, and an F1 menu with warping, cheats, and save states. The author warns that performance may be bad on some PCs and that he doesn’t know whether he will keep working on it. Version 0.1.9 (October 24) added an optional game-logic thread. 17 of its 18 commits list Claude as a co-author.
You needYour own decrypted dump of Majora’s Mask 3D, USA v1.1, as a .3ds or .cci. 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, or x64 Linux with glibc 2.38 or newer; a GPU with Vulkan 1.2, about 4 GB of disk space, and 8 GB of RAM. An internet connection is needed the first time: setup downloads a compiler (Python and llvm-mingw on Windows, zig on Linux), checks each download against a pinned SHA-256, and takes 10 to 40 minutes.
