Resident Evil Gaiden
Game: Resident Evil Gaiden (GBC, 2001)
A static recompilation of the US Game Boy Color release, built with gb-recompiled: the cartridge code is translated to C and linked with a runtime on SDL2, OpenGL ES 3, and Dear ImGui. It boots looking like an unmodified Game Boy Color (10:9, original colors), and every enhancement is optional or adjustable from the F10 menu: true 16:9 (256×144) or 21:9 (336×144) widescreen that widens the view instead of stretching it; an optional sprint at 125–250% speed that switches off in battles and menus; a flashlight with dynamic lighting; image filters (vignette, film grain, CRT scanlines, and five color grading profiles); PNG HD texture packs; replacement music in OGG or WAV with loop points; cheats and GameShark codes; and ten save-state slots. There are Windows and Android builds, with Linux in the works. Version 0.4.1 (September 16) restored the zombie voices and added loop points. Five of its 26 commits list Claude as co-author, and the README warns that the bundled HD pack is AI-generated placeholder art meant to be replaced.
