Ridge Racer (PSP)
Game: Ridge Racers (PSP, 2004)
A native PC port of Ridge Racer for the PSP, made by statically recompiling the game’s code; you build it on your own machine from your own copy. It is in beta and for now Windows only (Beta 1.0, October 26, with a Setup.exe installer). It renders with OpenGL 3.3 at a multiple of the PSP’s 480x272, with anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering, and sharpening, at frame rates above the PSP’s 60 (tested up to 144), with Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch controllers and full sound and music through an ATRAC3+ decoder. It includes online Wireless Battle with a server browser, rooms with codes and passwords, and up to 8 players (tested with up to 3). The README declares that all the code was written by AI (Claude, in Claude Code), warns that the project is not actively maintained, and lists as known limits car LOD pop-in, some intro camera shots, and Time Attack on some tracks. 5 of its 8 commits list Claude as a co-author.
You needYour own copy of Ridge Racer for the PSP: a decrypted .iso disc image or the folder that contains PSP_GAME, whose executable PSP_GAME/SYSDIR/BOOT.BIN must be decrypted (it starts with ELF). Plus Windows 10 or 11.
