Shadow Tower
Game: Shadow Tower (PS1, 1998)
ReShadowTower: an experimental static recompilation of the US release (SLUS-00863) for Windows and Linux, built with PSXRecomp. The game’s code is generated and compiled on your machine from your disc with tools bundled in the package, with nothing downloaded, and paths that haven’t been translated fall back to an interpreter; no console BIOS is needed, since it includes OpenBIOS. It adds mouse look and WASD movement, a render scale up to 8x (3x by default), sharper filtering for environment textures, projection-based widescreen (16:9 and 21:9, with a stretched HUD), FXAA, adaptive sharpening, and optional color grading, grain, bloom, and a CRT filter, plus save states on F7. Its own launcher holds the graphics, audio, and control settings. Controllers use the original digital controls, and the game logic keeps its original pace of about 20 updates per second: the author hasn’t enabled an unlock because the test version sped the game up. Version 0.2.0 came out on October 5.
You needYour own BIN/CUE dump of Shadow Tower (USA) for PS1 (SLUS-00863); other regions aren’t supported, nor an ISO or CHD with its extension changed. Plus 64-bit Windows (installer) or x86-64 Linux (AppImage), with OpenGL 3.3 drivers.
