Super Mario Kart

Game: Super Mario Kart (SNES / Super Famicom, 1992)

A native Windows recompilation of Super Mario Kart (USA), built on snesrecomp. The recompiled C is generated on your machine from your own ROM and is never committed to the repository. The release is a setup pack (about 49 MB) containing the launcher, the recompiler, and the source tree, with no game data: on first run it downloads portable build tools, asks for your ROM, and builds the game with Generate & rebuild. The launcher offers shader presets (scanlines, CRT, upscalers) that switch the renderer to OpenGL. According to the README, it boots to the title screen and runs the attract-mode race, with Mode 7 and the DSP-1 command model needing no firmware; most code still runs through the snesrecomp interpreter, and full cups, Battle Mode, and two-player split screen are not verified. Version 0.1.0 is from October 30. 5 of its 7 commits list Claude as a co-author.

You needYour own “Super Mario Kart (USA).sfc” ROM (CRC32 cd80db86, HiROM). 64-bit Windows and an internet connection on first launch for the portable build tools.
