Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon
Game: Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon (1993)
An unofficial native port of Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon (Philips CD-i, 1993) for Windows, made by static recompilation: the 68000 program modules on the disc are translated ahead of time into C and run with a native Windows runtime that emulates the CD-RTOS (OS-9) kernel, the CD file manager, the video decoder, and the ADPCM audio processor. The boot module (cdi_zelda) and the logo module (cdi_bumper) are recompiled; the real-time data and audio streams are read from the disc image at run time. There is one executable with the original rendering and another with an HD renderer whose Cartoon HD and HD+ filters smooth sprite edges (this is spatial scaling, not motion interpolation). It has one-frame run-ahead, ten in-memory quicksave slots for the session, invincibility, and XInput controllers. The README doesn’t state a progress level. Version 1.0.0 (October 22) is published as a portable zip. Its only commit lists Claude as a co-author.
You needYour own image of The Wand of Gamelon disc, as a .bin and its .cue, in the rom/ folder (or its path as an argument to the executable). The portable zip doesn’t include the disc. Windows 10 or later; to build from source, Visual Studio 2022 with the C++ tools, CMake 3.19, and Python 3.8.
