Zone of the Enders

Game: Zone of the Enders (PS2, 2001)

A native Windows port of the USA PS2 version (SLUS_201.48), made by statically recompiling the game’s MIPS code to C++ with PS2Recomp and running it on a PC runtime with an OpenGL renderer, compiled vector-unit programs, and IOP and sound emulation. According to the README, the game runs at a steady 60 frames per second, up to three times the PS2’s internal resolution, with widescreen, progressive output, save states, remappable keyboard and controller input, DualShock 2 pressure buttons, rumble, and two controllers for Versus mode. It can be played in full, from the intro to the final area, with cutscenes, movies with sound, the Hub, and the hidden Versus mode. Known issues remain, such as an occasional freeze when loading a warehouse. The repository includes vector-unit programs already compiled from the game (zoe_vu_aot.cpp, about 3 MB); the rest of the C++ is generated on your PC from your disc and is not in the repository. It recommends playing with a controller. Version 1.0.1 is from October 31.

You needYour own .iso disc image (2048-byte sectors) of the USA Zone of the Enders; the check expects SLUS_201.48, 3,001,304 bytes, CRC-32 A0A48DD1 (the undub release works too). 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 and a GPU with OpenGL 3.3.
