Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins
Game: Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins → (Game Boy, 1992)
An enhanced desktop edition, called Six Golden Coins, rewritten in Rust. It is not an emulator: it is a native port whose gameplay logic follows the original game’s code, though its author warns it doesn’t aim for emulator accuracy and there will be small differences in timing and edge cases. It adds widescreen (16:9, 21:9, or the window’s aspect ratio), camera zoom-out up to 200%, optional frame interpolation, Game Boy, Pocket, Game Boy Color, and Super Game Boy palettes, and an SML2DX mode with that hack’s graphics and colors, with Mario or Luigi, from your own SML2DX ROM. The screen expansions activate enemies sooner beyond the original edge, so some encounters change. Releases are a single executable for Windows, Linux, and Apple Silicon macOS; 0.2.0 is from November 1. The repository holds behavior-test recordings, not game data. 76 of its last 100 commits list Claude as a co-author.
You needYour own Super Mario Land 2 UE v1.0 ROM, imported from Settings, Game, Import ROM. For DX mode, an SML2DX v1.8.1 ROM or IPS patch. Windows x64, Linux x86-64, or Apple Silicon macOS.
