Amped 2 (bertibertig)

Game: Amped 2 → (Xbox, 2003)

An experimental static recompilation of Amped 2 (original Xbox, 2003) into a native x86-64 program, based on xboxrecomp: the game’s code is translated to C and compiled, and the runtime and the project’s own code replace the Xbox kernel, GPU, audio, and input; there is no emulator. According to the README, on Linux (Vulkan renderer) the movies, menus, level select, and a ride with Millicent 1 work, with the HUD and challenge cards, at about 55 frames per second, and music no longer drops out. It offers resolution from 1× to 5×, 4:3, 16:9, 16:10, and 21:9 aspect ratios, and an unlocked frame rate. The Windows version is experimental and not playable yet (software renderer only, 2 to 6 frames per second, tested under Wine and Proton). Version 0.2.0 (October 21) is the latest. All 16 of its commits list Claude as a co-author.

You needYour own Amped 2 disc for the original Xbox, PAL/European version (title ID 4D530041, default.xbe with SHA-1 38e63cd016bf084d999e0a911933a52191bfc378), as an .iso image extracted with extract-xiso or xdvdfs into the game_files folder; other versions have not been tested. On Linux, glibc 2.39 or newer, SDL2, and a Vulkan driver.
