Blast Corps (SlaveOfIDO)
SlaveOfIDO/blastcorps-recomp
A native port of the Nintendo 64 version, made by static recompilation with N64: Recompiled and with RT64 as the rendering engine; it is not an emulator. The menus load assets directly from your copy of the game, with no extraction or build step. It offers high frame rates, widescreen and ultrawide, audio faithful to the original, instant load times, low input lag, and mod support, and it runs on Windows, Linux (the Steam Deck included, via Flatpak), and macOS. The only known issue it lists is that overlays such as MSI Afterburner or Wallpaper Engine can stop the game from rendering correctly. The README states that no generative AI was used. Version 1.1.0 (October 28) is the latest; 1.0.0 came out on October 23.
You needYour own copy of Blast Corps for the Nintendo 64, North American version 1.1, which you point to in the main menu. Plus a GPU supporting Direct3D 12 (Shader Model 6), Vulkan 1.2, or Metal (Argument Buffers tier 2); on x86-64 PCs an SSE4.1 CPU; on a Mac, Apple Silicon or a 7th-generation Intel with macOS 13 or later.
Blast Corps (djultra64)
djultra64/Power-Dozer
Power Dozer: a static recompilation of Blast Corps (US, revision 1) with N64Recomp, N64ModernRuntime, and RT64, for 64-bit Windows and Linux. Version 0.84, which the author calls a “beta candidate,” adds a main menu (Start Game, PC Options, and Close Game) over the game’s own animated background and scrolling ticker, with display, graphics, audio, and all fourteen controls settings. Earlier versions added PC settings and audio fixes. Version 0.84 is from October 12. The README warns that final archives are audited before publication. It states the use of OpenAI Codex for research, analysis, code, tests, and documentation.
You needYour own copy of Blast Corps for Nintendo 64, US, revision 1, as .z64, .v64, or .n64, or in a .zip with a single valid ROM; you pick it on first launch. Plus 64-bit Windows or Linux with SSSE3 and SSE4.1 and Vulkan drivers (Linux: X11 or XWayland, glibc 2.38 or later; Windows: Visual C++ 2015–2022 x64).
Blast Corps
Doridian/BlastCorps
A matching decompilation of Blast Corps (Japan, USA, USA Rev 1, and Europe) and a native port built from it that plays all four. It runs on Linux (x86-64 and arm64), Windows (x86-64), macOS (Apple silicon; it builds but hasn’t been tested on a Mac), and in the browser through WebAssembly, where you bring your own ROM. According to the README it plays the whole game, including a full replay of WarHippy’s “all platinum medals” TAS, and adds widescreen, high frame rates, high-resolution text, model icons, a free camera, and mouse and touch controls. The executable does not embed the game’s images, palettes, vertices, or models, which are filled in at startup from your ROM; the repository keeps a snapshot with the data of the handwritten code (strings and tables) so it can build without a ROM. Version 0.9.1 (October 25), the only release, ships an AppImage, an .exe, a .dmg, the web zip, and a licenses zip. 94 of its last 100 commits list Claude as a co-author.
You needYour own Blast Corps ROM of one of the four versions: Japan (Blastdozer), USA (v1.0 or Rev 1), or Europe (En,De), validated by SHA-1 (for example, USA: 185a6ef7ba1adb243278062c81a7d4e119bda58c; USA Rev 1: 483f7161aea39de8b45c9fbc70a2c3883c4dea8c). Linux, Windows, or macOS, or a modern browser for the web version.
