Super Mario 64
Game: Super Mario 64 → (N64, 1996)
A native PC port of the US Nintendo 64 version, made by static recompilation: the game’s MIPS code is translated to C with N64Recomp and run natively on N64ModernRuntime, with RT64 as the renderer and RecompFrontend’s launcher and menus; the symbols come from the n64decomp/sm64 decompilation. It is not an emulator. The README states that almost all of the code was written by AI agents (Claude), directed and play-tested by a person. The desktop build has sound, EEPROM saves, and keyboard and gamepad input, and draws at the display’s rate while the game logic stays at 30; Bob-omb Battlefield has been played from the file select through King Bob-omb’s star and back to the castle. It offers high resolution, optional hi-res text, and options with an Original value, and it also builds as a web page using WebGPU. Version 0.1.2 (October 27) is the latest. 64 of its 98 commits list Claude as a co-author.
